This book seriously messed with my head in the best way. It was a twisty, intense psychological thriller that kept me on edge the whole time I was listening to the audiobook. Also, narrators did an amazing job at giving life to the characters! The relationship between Caitlin and this maybe-Olivia was so tense and suspenseful it gave me chills.

Also, I don't quite know how I feel about the twisted nature of Elinor and her brother's relationship. Maybe I liked it, maybe I didn't? It was show more pretty twisted and sick. Each scene with them added an extra layer of "what the hell is happening" to everything that was going on. It was disturbing in the exact way you would want a psychological thriller to be. I highly recommend! show less
"The Wedding Vow" by Dandy Smith is a fantastic 5-star read! Verity is grieving the loss of her husband, Linden, when she discovers he had been hiding a major secret. Determined to uncover the truth, she embarks on a search that could have deadly consequences.

The story is told from two perspectives—Verity’s and that of The Other Woman. The author does a brilliant job of keeping you guessing about the identity of The Other Woman—at some point, you’ll suspect nearly every female show more character. I lost count of how many times I was convinced I had figured it out, only to change my mind a few chapters later! The final reveal of The Other Woman and the person responsible for Linden’s death was both surprising and satisfying.

This is my second 5-star read from Dandy Smith, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

Thanks to Embla Books, Dandy Smith, and NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.

It's been sixteen years since Caitlin saw a man in a Venetian mask kidnap her sister with a knife to her throat while she did nothing.
Caitlin doesn't believe Olivia is actually Olivia, and she's determined to prove it. It's little things like forgetting their cousins name or not remembering the day of the abduction. She also refuses to talk about her time in captivity.
Nobody will listen to or believe Caitlin when she tries to say Olivia isn't who she says she is. Or that she is seeing the show more masked man everywhere. They continue to shut her down and insult her. She doesn't know who to turn to anymore.
She is alone.
But Caitlin has no idea how far the deception really goes.
Meanwhile, Elinor and her brother Heath are under the control of their violent uncle, and they want out.
Heath is determined to protect his little sister at all costs. He loves her... more than anything.
Wow! Do not sleep on this book! I was absolutely shocked at the end! This is a seriously twisty tale!

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.

The plot of this novel, which was basically the lengths Elodie is prepared to go to get a book deal, was initially barely believable and then strayed into completely crazy territory.

SPOILERS

I fail to believe Elodie couldn't have escaped from Wisteria during the period she was merely locked in - it's a cottage in Cornwall - break a window for heaven's sake! I found the characters inconsistent in their behaviour, and the author show more returned time and again to the question of whether it was OK for a woman not to want to become a mother, which had nothing to do with the main storyline.

This really wasn't for me, but the plot mostly held together and the chapters from Ada's perspective added a second dimension. I can see that others would enjoy it more.
