It was enjoyable, and worth reading. It felt a bit less momentous in some ways than the first main Dance in the Vampire Bund series, but it started developing some characters more fully -- characters that became more interesting because of this deeper treatment for them -- so it evened out in the end. I look forward to the second volume of this short corollary series.

HOLY CRAP. I *felt* how embarrassing that was. What a way to take someone down a notch.

I never thought I'd really like a vampire book, but I'm liking the queen getting some frailty.
