A little of this goes a long way. Some of these signs are genuinely laugh out loud funny but after a while I lost interest mainly because I realized the book was making fun of people whose first language is not English. As somebody who is not quite fluent in French and stumbles along with very bad Japanese, I'd hate to be in charge of making signs in either of those languages.

There is probably nothing in this book that you can't find on the Internet.

I was very pleased to be notified by Amazon that this book was available. I love cryptic crosswords and I can usually do pretty well with the ones published in the Daily Telegraph. (Not so well with those of the Times).

This book will keep me busy for years, there are 240 puzzles. I will alternate solving with other puzzles from various sources. If anyone is reading this and is interested in "puzzles" of any kind, I highly recomment the National Puzzlers League (NPL). You can find them online.

I try to do a score with cryptics so that I can see if I am improving. The first one in the book that I tried, I got 57% accuracy. The second one that I tried was better: 87%. Anyway, cryptics are fun.. try them, you will like them.

Given the current economic problems this book is timely and extremely useful. Although many cook books contain economic recipes, this one spells out the use of cheaper produce very clearly and the recipes are good and easy to prepare. Particularly useful to families with young children.
Although many recipes use dried egg, the real thing can be used just as well. Some ingredients mentioned have different names now, but most are readily available.
