If you ever want to know about bees, in the shortest amount of time, here's the book. Although it appears to be a book for somewhat intelligent children, this tome is quite handy for the adult reader, also. In fact, I ended up getting upset when I realized I had finished reading it, as I wanted to know even more about these creatures who teach the act of order to a peopled kingdom.

I got the impression that the author was an actual no-nonsense beekeeper, so along with learning about the nature of bees, one also learns about the role of the humans who maintain hives to help the bees. Plus, one discovers the wax scales, the pollen baskets, the poison sacs, the battles of the queens, and the short but leisurely life of the drone.

Now, I can enjoy my newfound knowledge, when next I venture to watch my little friends make boot upon the summer's velvet buds.
