Spanish edition. I do not speak Spanish but just looking at the pictures see that this book is about poverty and ignorance. The artist is amazing, but I am not sure I would enjoy the story if it were in English.

Marie finally returns to Notre-Dame just in time to help the town get back on the right road. Great interactions between the townsfolk prior to her arrival and afterwards - especially as folks begin to question their own beliefs and morals. A really enjoyable tale!

Marie, looking for understanding if not sympathy from the village, finds only turned backs. As the passing of her friend's mother reminds us, life is to be lived. To that end, she takes to Montreal to try to find a bit of what she's been missing and Notre Dame des Lacs is left to try to keep living their lives without her help. The importance of each individual in the continuing lives of everyone comes to the forefront as tensions grow due to lack of supplies.
