I've read more than a few books on mathematics, both pure and applied, and I've got to say that John Vince is one of the most clear and straight-forward writers I've come across. I've found many authors of mathematics texts to take much of their own knowledge for granted - something that Vince is clearly aware of and exhibits by never introducing a new(-ish) term or concept without having defined it first (and usually in a very organic way). I've found his ability in this area to be amazingly helpful and something very hard to come by in any technical text.

There is no code in this book. In fact, there is almost zero reference to computers at all. The text is strictly a mathematics one with more focus on the geometric application of the concepts explained.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone with an "non-traditional" mathematics background or anyone feeling rusty in their algebra/trig/geometry.
