Fun read with my kids and a nice shift away from the many oversexualized versions in the past few decades

A fun short story detailing one of the exploits of the most popular background character in The Force Awakens. Sadly, this did not lead to additional literary adventures.

Amusing story. Completely absurd but amusing nonetheless. And frankly I missed the bit at the end, nice twist.

And spy pig. Now I've got that stupid theme from The Simpson's Movie. Spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does. Anna is crazy. I loved her plan to train the pig to be a shadow so it can become spy pig. I loved that Elsa goes along with it. Batshit crazy.

I liked the plot of this. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I liked that there was a bit of a mystery, a bit of deception and they were busy packing all the fun they could possibly have into the day. Target audience 5 stars. Myself, 4.

not into this one, not a big fan of Brave and the bold all together. Too juvenile.

The artwork is good, the plot like others have stated is very cliche, and the dialogue is okay. I got this for 50 cents which was a steal!

Pepper Page: Saves the Universe is a bit like a love letter to comic book fans. Here, Pepper reacts how a normal person would when suddenly thrust inside a crazy situation inside a beloved comic book with powers and all to be exact.

The art style is the real merit here! I though the artwork was very stylized, impactful, and colorful. On the other hand, the story, the characters, and the big bad felt weak to me. every villain doesn’t have to have a backstory. Killian believes helping others is just a waste of time. Reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho where one the villains grew up with loving parents and a great childhood but decided to become evil just because. Some fools just evil.

I would be interested in a book two, but I thought this was overall very lackluster. The Supernova stuff confused me a bit. If anyone understood it, feel free to comment on this review. Supernova question: 1. so, she was always Supernova for real and somehow she got separated from the comic series, which is why she's an orphan and had such an infinity for the comics? 2. when she got transported through Killian machine, the Magic Babies rewrote her existence to truly be Supernova. 3. some other explanation.

what confuses me is how does the comic series exist before Pepper? is this the egg or the chicken situation? or, is it too late, and I'm not making sense?

It's the wild west!

Welcome to Jakku! A real frontier - there's a sheriff (er, constable) and a train robbery (er, spaceship) and a turncoat... or IS he.

Nice Star Wars short, setting something of the scene for whatever is ahead at Jakku.....

Reseña en español: http://boisde-merveilles.blogspot.mx/2017/12/titulo-projectterra-crash-course-1....

This book has a kind of generic storyline, a girl who tries to prove herself at school but turns
out to be some kind of chosen one. Still, I found this story very imaginative because of the setting and world the author created.

The characters are diverse in race (aliens) and personality, this serves to give strong messages against discrimination, prejudice and bullying. Their differences make them complement each other. Elara is a good protagonist, determined, intelligent, skilled and friendly. She is capable of lear from her mistakes and to accept everyone, no matter how different they are from her, she is always curious and willing to help.

The storyline is more focused on explain how this universe works, to get the reader used to all the terminology and establish the setting. The first part works more as a slice of life story, it’s on the second half that something big is discovered and a big mystery appears. The book has action, friendship, interesting setting and some humor.

I found this to be a light, fast paced and definitely entertaining read, complemented with cute illustrations. It’s perfect for the audience its targeted to.

Superhero-in-hiding Dash recounts his daily adventures in a diary cleverly disguised as a school notebook.

This book is a humorous look at the events in the Incredibles 2 movie as seen through the eyes of middle child Dash. In addition to getting his views on events, we see a little more of his day-to-day life, such as going to class, doing homework, trying out for the football team, etc. It is definitely necessary to see the movie before reading this book or else you will get major spoilers.

However, fans of the movie will definitely love this, and Dash's charm and humor will appeal to kids. With the short diary entries combined with images from the movie and doodles by Dash, this book has definite potential to be a great read even for reluctant readers.

Any time I see TMNT anything I want to be involved. I loved them growing up and had the original action figures and loved the show and movies and the re-booting has been pretty entertaining. I have never followed any of the comics but I was interested to see what this one would bring.

Amazing Adventures Volume 1 had me a bit lost, I haven't watched the new Nickelodeon series or anything so that may have been my own fault, but even as issues 1-4 this seemed to jump into a bigger story that I have missed. There are a number of stories included in this volume and they are all very entertaining and enjoyable but I couldn't help but feel as if I had missed a lot of information.

Either way the characters are their normal funny selves, there are wonderful TMNT villains and loads of newer characters I was not familiar with but happy to see added. The various artists did a great job with the storylines and characters and I did enjoy reading it... I jest felt like I needed more background to really love it.

Landry Q. Walker's Star Wars: Tales From A Galaxy Far, Far Away: Aliens, Volume 1 is an anthology of short stories, some previously published in ebook format, about some of the aliens from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The six stories explore background characters from Jakku and Maz Kanata's castle on Takodana. The first, "High Noon on Jakku," features Constable Zuvio in a traditional Western-style story about a bank robbery. After that, the reader moves to Takodana in "A Recipe for Death" where the chef in Maz's castle uses a Top Chef-style competition to discover a murderer's identity. "All Creatures Great And Small" is a charming retelling of the events of A New Hope from the perspective of Bobbajo, the alien that appeared alongside J.J. Abrams in the Force For Change campaign. "The Face of Evil" follows Ryn Biggleston, a criminal who seeks reconstructive surgery from two Frigosians in a story with homages to Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. "True Love" explores the character of Unkar Plutt in the saddest story of the collection. Finally, "The Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku" is a traditional pirate adventure with some fun nods to the Clone Wars, while the Corsair himself resembles Boba Fett. Tyler Scarlet's illustrations at the beginning of each story help to set the mood and possess a mysterious quality that invites the reader in to the story. The volume resembles Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina or Tales from Jabba's Palace and, with Volume 1 in the title, hopefully more stories will follow that will build the world of The Force Awakens and add color to the gray areas yet to be explored.

Silly, and young (too young for many of my middle-schoolers, but too long for my 3rd-5th graders), this covers Supergirl's attempts to assimilate into 8th grade, an evil twin, and a nemesis...who could possibly be a friend!½

A fun cute book that seriously should have been continued. I was also glad that the villain admitted to involvement in getting Supergirl to Earth b/c her behavior freaked me out as a little.

Teen Titans meets Pulp Fiction. Something has happened to Earth's heroes and all that's left to defend us -- we hope -- are the left-behind sidekicks. We're completely thrown into this graphically violent world (issue 2 pretty much starts with a guy's head being blown apart), and there aren't many signposts as to which of these characters we should trust. This trade paperback collects issues 1 through 4 out of an expected eight (this is an independent comic team, and there have been multiple delays). It's an interesting post-modern take on superheroes -- the art and color are stunning, and I love the Silver Age-like splash pages that help give some context -- but since there's no real resolution yet, this may not be one to start if you don't like unfinished stories.
