This is an excellent cycling travelogue book. Not very well known, I am afraid, seems only two cpoies between all LT users at the moment.
The book is very nice, I am halfway thru it at the moment and was pleasantly surprised on how interesting and well crafted it is.
The author describe not only her travels along the rough roads of a number of African countries, but also her background and inner feelings before and during the trip. I admire her courage on tackling such a long trip along difficult areas on her own; Even having the advantage of being a male (and less risks than a female would be exposed to in similar circumstances), I doubt I would do the same trip, alone like she did.
Her writing is very entertaining, a review I read at Amazon compared it to a documentary's story telling, and I think that's pretty accurate.
Would recommend this book to anyone interested in long distance bicycle touring, it's a really good read.… (more)
