Jogging round Majorca by Gordon West
A wonderful book. So cleverly written.
Travel in Mallorca in the 1920s. A simple tale of places and people, in the main very different from the Mallorca of mass tourism. Still, an essence of this previous era is still there to be found, something of the landscape and a certain rhythm of life, still unhurried in places if one cares to look.
First person account of travel to and in southern Morocco, in the 1930s. Engagingly written and filled with quirky encounters, it is ultimately a light-weight tale without any drama.
