Ciyun Zhang

This is a collection of one hundred Chinese four-character idioms. Zhang gives the Chinese characters and pinyin for each idiom and then explains its origin and contemporary meaning. The stories are interesting in themselves but the aim is for readers to better understand the Chinese language. The book is copiously illustrated.
