People/Characters Aquila Ware

Aquila Ware is the legitimate daughter of a philandering British diplomat, now deceased, leaving her a wealthy heiress.   She has an illegitimate sister, Philomena, almost her same age to whom she is very close, even though Philo raises canaries that Aquila is allergic to.  Aquila, an attractive blonde, is extremely languid and self-possessed, giving the impression of being rather cold.   Her mother died when she was nine.  When her father was stationed in Brazil, they met Theobald Mayhew, later Baron Mayhew of Aisby.   She is a talented performer on the spinet and a skilled and enthusiastic rider.    Cressida Trent is a cousin.
