(Fictitious character) Daniel Macadam is of Scottish descent. When Katharine Holloway first meets him, he is working as a driver, but she later meets him in some different guises. He is very charming, but Katharine isn't looking for a romance. She often depends on Daniel to help her with difficulties. Daniel says that he is unable to give her details about his life and his work. He moves frequently, but his son Jamie always knows where he is, although they do not live together by mutual consent.. Jamie was an illegitimate child, but when Daniel learned of his existence, he promptly acknowledges and legitimated him.
