| Description | Edith Louisa Cavell (4 December 1865 – 12 October 1915) was a humanitarian and British nurse. She was executed during WWI. She treated any soldier, regardless of nationality. She worked with a network helping British and French soldiers, as well as French and Belgian men of military age, escape to the Netherlands.
