Description
| Description | Golde in the Domesday series is the dispossessed daughter of a Saxon thegn. She has a much younger sister Aelgar. Having come down in status after the Norman Conquest, Golde married a brewer, who died leaving her a not particularly bereaved widow, wary of another marriage. She did however have the brewing business, famous for the high quality of its product, which her sister helped her run. |
