Description
Jennifer Levin was in Dorrian's Red Hand, a bar in an upclass neighborhood that was a hangout for the locals.   She had been dating Robert Chambers for two months, but he seemed to be losing interest in her.   He is also said to have been dating another young woman, with or without Jennifer's knowledge, and to have been upset over breaking up with her.   In any case, he was distant with Jennifer, and she asked him to step outside and talked.   Her body was found the next morning in Central Park.  Chambers was arrested for her murder.   Chambers was released into the care of Monsignor Thomas Leonard of the Church of the Incarnation in Manhattan.  At the trial, his lawyer Jack Litman concentrated on portraying Jennifer Levin as sex-crazed and claiming that she assaulted Chambers.   After a mistrial, Chambers pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter sentenced to fifteen years, being released on Valentine's Day, 2003.
