Need help finding a children's book from the '60s or '70s

remember pouring over a book in the 1970s set in a kitchen - I believe it was a royal kichen - and is about baking a cake. It seems like the plot involved a little mouse that was baked in the frosting or coated with sugar and then runs off the cake at the end.
