In a New York City devastated by a superhuman battle gone wrong, Harry Cage is a man on the run. His Reality-bending power was supposed to save the day, not accidentally level half of Manhattan. Harry's only allies are Vanessa, a street-smart illusionist, and her precognitive little brother. Together, they uncover a sinister plot: Henderson is exploiting the chaos to round up superhumans for his mysterious Chimera project.

To make things worse, the Guardian—the cosmic being that gave him his power—is furious at Harry’s failure, and wants to banish him into another dimension. But Harry can't afford to be sidelined, not when Henderson is draining superhumans like cattle to create a new breed of soldiers.

With time running out and the odds stacked against him, Harry must master his unpredictable abilities to stop Henderson before it’s too late. A tall order, but Harry's been given a second chance, and this time, he’s determined to get it right.
