Padani: A Family Story

Padani: A Family Story is a sweeping biographical novel by acclaimed Israeli author Shifra Horn, inspired by the true story of the Padani family.

Beginning in revolutionary Odessa, the novel follows the family through immigration to Antwerp, Nazi-occupied Belgium, and eventual rebuilding in Israel. At its center is Henri Padani — Holocaust survivor, master jeweler, and founder of what became Israel’s leading jewelry brand. Drawing on family memories and firsthand testimony, Shifra Horn brings to life a story of survival, craftsmanship, and reinvention.
