
A burnished ovoid shaped red pottery container, decorated around the rim with a black painted band. 5 inches high. Egypt, XVIII Dynasty circa 1500 B.C. From John Garstang's 1906 excavations at Esna,(263E '06 III). Provenance: Ex Professor Dilling collection and thence by descent. Acquired from/through the University of Liverpool. (Misidentified as Pre-dynastic period and excavated by Petrie!!).
