- About My Library
Ever-changing, depending on my interests of the moment. I'm a big reader (I read about a book per week) but with limited storage space at home, so I tend to buy only second hand books before reselling them and/ or donating them to charities. I keep only books that I am highly likely to re-read and/ or need for personal references. Besides some classic literature (poetry especially), these are books either related somehow to my job (I'm a Care Support Worker); nature and environmentalism; wines and drinks; or language learning (I'm currently learning Dutch). I also prefer paperback/ hardback to digital, and audiobooks just aren't for me.
- About Me
I'm a Frenchman who's been living in England for about 20 years now.
I work as a Care Support Worker. I used to support vulnerable adults with profound learning disabilities and/or mental disorders, and I'm currently supporting elderlies with dementia and/ or other issues. I'm absolutely passionate about my job. My library will reflect that, as I read a lot about mental health; psychiatry and psychology; dementia; learning disabilities; substance abuse; and other various related topics (e.g. neurology, eugenics, transhumanism etc. etc. etc.). I'm also very interested in nature and related topics too (e.g. botany; gardening; animals; environmentalism etc.).
I don't only read, but also write. I love poetry and published a collection of love poems back in 2019 (titled 'A Vow' and still available on Amazon and e-bay). I also used to campaign for fathers' rights (which I don't do anymore, due to time constraint mostly) and so edited an anthology of poetry dedicated to fathers and fatherhood back in 2021 (titled 'To Dads -With Love', and also still available on Amazon and e-bay).
