About Me

Alex Pearl is the author of four novels: 'Sleeping with the Blackbirds', is a YA. urban fantasy, which was long listed by the Book Viral Millennium Book Awards 2018, and selected by the Indie Author Project for distribution to libraries across the US and Canada.

'The Chair Man's' is a dark thriller set against the terrorist attack on London's transport system on 2005.. It was a Finalist in The Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2021.

'A Brand to Die For' is a comic murder mystery set in the London advertising world of 1983. It is the first murder mystery set in a London advertising agency since Dorothy L. Sayers penned 'Murder Must Advertise' back in 1933.

'One Man Down' is the sequel and was taken up by Roundfire Books.

His non-fiction titles include '100 Ways to Write a Book', a collection of 100 in-depth interviews with authors around the globe. Pearl conducted these during COVID and was intent on exploring the backgrounds, motivations, and working methods of authors. All royalties are being donated to PEN International.

'Random Ramblings of a Short-sighted Writer' is a collection of essays and short stories, some of which appeared in the pages of The Huffington Post.

Pearl has also contributed to three anthologies: 'The Clock Struck War', a collection to mark the centenary of the First World War; 'The Faintest of Tickles', a collection of short stories, essays, and poetry associated with cricket; and 'Crime Songs', a collection of crime shorts based on the titles of popular songs.
