Most of my library is books I've used for research for books I'm writing. At the moment, my desk is stacked high with books about colonial Brazil and slavery. Not far away are books about the Pilgrims. Somewhere I've still got a few milk crates full of information about Chernobyl. "Library" would not be the right word for all the books I have lying around the house, most half read and half forgotten.
