- hold (1), this book was so sweet that the little boy always wanted to take care of his grandpa. I think this shows the respect that indigenous culture has for their elders. I also liked how it had native language within the book. (1), This book was so sweet and could be used to teach so many lessons to children. It could be about anxiety or new places. It had a powerful message that I think could really change a child's perspective around their fear. (1), This book was so heartfelt and made me somewhat sad. This little girls journey to a new home and the way it was written really pulled heart strings for me. I loved the illustrations and this books was empowering. (1), This books was a nice dedication to the author and her journey with fasting for ramadan. I always wondered what this experience was like for my classmates when I was in school so this was very educational (1), This book was great representation of the love in LGBTQ families. It's hard to see that children would be made to feel like their family isn't correct. This would be a great book to bring to class to normalize lgbtq families (1), I loved the family representation in this book. Stella realized her family didn't look the same but that was okay because she still had a family that loved her. It's a powerful book about family diversity but also lgbtq representation (1), I loved this book and as an older sister it really tugged my heart. It's so sweet that a families love would go so far to make everyone feel understood. (1), This was my first wordless book and it was interesting. i think it was trying to show the power of imagination which is what someone needs to dig deep into a wordless book. Illustrations were beautiful. (1), As a hispanic girl I felt alma gaining the love for her culture and her ancestors. It was so sweet to see alma become empowered by her name because for many our names are very sentimental and empowering things. (1), This book was powerful in sharing how your actions can have such a damaging effect on others. This story also shared bravery from the little girl. Despite being scared of the judgment from the world she didn't want that to stop her. She let her anger fuel (1), This book would be nice for families to share with their children who feel that their child is a part of nature. It was more to show the beauty that we are apart of mother nature. (1), This book had beautiful imagery and words used to describe wonderful animals. I think it did great sharing the power that animals hold in certain cultures. Again a cute book for home or my personal library at school. (1), I do appreciate the author's note and why she was motivated to read it. I didn't have many connections to this book but it was a window for me to see the hardships of others cultures. I think this could be a fun book for early grades to teach them about a penguins habitat or other parts of the world that penguin traveled to. (1), this book was about a child losing his home but finding comfort in a dog. The dog always goes somewhere and noor finally finds the safe space that all the animals have found. I think this book was good to show the calm in the chaos but its so sad that thi (1), i love these visual narratives. They are so fun to really pay close attention to the images and details that we sometimes miss when we are physically reading a book. This book was so fun to share the messages of friendship. (1), this is a cute book for children to explore realistic story telling. you can see the kittens doing normal cat things and it would be nice to practice telling real stories not just make believe (1), I really enjoyed this book. The words were so reassuring for children and I think this book can be great for new younger students who are scared of school. The story of not having to have family that looks like you to be loved was powerful. (1), This book can be used so many different ways in a classroom. it can be used to teach children about bats or to accept others and their own differences. It had great illustrations of families that look different and I think it shared a story that isn't shared in many books which is international adoption. I had a similar thing in early elementary school and I do see some of the negatives to that now. I really only felt important in class during that week and when it was others turn I felt jealous. I think that his hispanic culture all older people are aunts or uncles so we end up having such a large diverse family. I think especially for little kids they are just playing and exploring themselves. If we restrict them then they will build a judgmental ridgid mind. This book was great to share about adoption or family diversity. (1), this book was amazing representation of the beautify found in muslim culture. This book brought power to the hijab and made it something to be proud of. This book was one of the firsts that I have seen representing this culture so I loved it. (1), This book had a sweet message of inclusion. I think its important for others to be welcoming and this was a good childrens book to do so. (1)
