And whoever would've thought, the books that you bought were all I loved you for? - The Sundays, Here's Where the Story Ends What changed my husband from part of our friend circle to something more was when I saw our matching bookshelves. We had a big collection of the same books that we toted from home to home (mostly our science fiction favorites by Herbert, Asimov, Gibson, plus Anne Rice).Eventually we hooked the kids on some of our favorite books and when a visit is upcoming they'll often give us a few book titles they want to borrow. And, finally, after 25 years of marriage we started giving away the duplicate copies that the kids hadn't permanently claimed.Now I mostly do a mix of physical books and kindle books while my husband mixes physical and audio. (When the kids kept me too busy I was on audio books more. And research as their personal Dramaturg when the twins were busy acting and we'd have long drives together to film sets and theatres, using the selected audiobooks on the way.)And we have been doing afternoon walks together and began the work to document the official and unofficial Little Free Libraries, Free Little Art Galleries and other free sidewalk exchanges in our town and nearby, starting a new instagram and google map for the work, adding handmade amigurumi, small themed bags, bookmarks, and other gifts to accompany some of the books we leave or the themes of the exchange (this started after doing the Game of Shrooms art drop leaving mushrooms throughout town including 5 in the public library, 1 in the local indie bookshop, and others in parks, little free libraries, historic landmarks, and random other places).We can't wait to read some new titles and then share them with loved ones and the local community!
