I am a volunteer librarian for a primary school. I've slowly been improving the site and whilst looking for help with Dewey Decimal classification found this site. We have a small/medium size school library (small compared to the one I grew up with, but large compared to other schools our size). We are luck to receive lots of donations but the library hasn't had a dedicated librarian for a long time. my long term plans is to set the library up to make it easy for the children to find what they need and also return it. It is a longer term plan that I originally realised when I started work a few years back. I started volunteering an a couple of hours a week and now I do an hour everyday as I now work at the school. Unfortunately, I spend a lot of that hour tidying up the mess from the previous day. I love the work thought and the kids have told me how much more they like to be in the library now so it's all steps in the right direction.

I am an avid bookworm and lover of teddy bears. I probably should have grown up years ago but I am glad I didn't as too many of my more mature friends tell me they don't have time for reading now due to their other responsibilities.
