About My Library
It ebbs and flows. Comes and goes. Shrinks and grows.

It is now a lot more virtual than it once was, since space is at a bit of a premium at home and work. But that is fine: the library is a concept, which sometimes overlaps with a physical space.

I'm still in the process of adding all the things I do have to Library Thing. Because the adding takes away time from the reading. I should be more disciplined.

But the virtuality can't hide that it is a pretty mixed bag. Literary theory and philosophy, lots of literature (US, UK, a hefty chunk of fiction and poetry from New Zealand, a smattering of stuff from other countries), varying flavors of sci-fi, a little fantasy, books on economic theory, privacy law, physics and astrophysics, early US theatre (especially melodrama), a hefty chunk of US history (mostly pre-1900), aviation (mainly WWI and WWII, not much interest in jets or commercial), game design and game studies, cycling and running, photography and film.

It will all come in useful some day.
About Me

My least favorite question? "What is your favorite book?" (or favorite anything for that matter). I try very, very hard not to say, "What a stupid question," even though it is. I become completely tongue-tied. Or I hedge my bets. Our culture is so very much in love with the idea of The One. Hard to break out of centuries of monotheistic conditioning, I guess. The spice of life is in multiplicity.

A much better question? "What was the last thing you read that moved you?"
