To say my library's a mixed bag would be an understatement. Some classics here, some dry textbooky stuff, lots of guilty and many not-so-guilty pleasures. No real rhyme or reason. I'm generally pretty interested in American literature of the early 1800's, so you'll find lots of stuff in here by people like Hawthorne and Melville. But I've also got a strong interest in modern pop culture in all its many incarnations. Plus, comic books. And stuff about pro wrestling.

I teach college English, and write some, and read when I can. I think 90% of everything is crap, but I think the so-called "low culture" has value and even beauty in it. I don't have much use or patience for snobbery or closed-mindedness, and I'm not interested in anything that doesn't pulse. Also, I don't smile in pictures. And I can float.
