About My Library
Eclectic, but heavy on mysteries; fun books about pop culture; I tend not to "own" much fiction as I love going to the library to check out books. The smell is unique and I love browsing. I tend to purchase nonfiction and reference books, though, especially about writing and new media lately.
About Me
I'm a voracious reader, but don't read as much I would like to now. I moved many times but reading was always a part of my life. One of the first books I loved was The Lonely Doll. I didn't stop reading. Later, growing up I lived in the country and we didn't have TV so I read a lot as well as listened to NPR's Chapter a Day program. I even played "librarian" with my books with little pockets in the back of them to place cards if someone borrowed one.

I pretty much read anything and everything including biographies and more adult books from Kurt Vonnegut and George Orwell at 13 or so and then found Agatha Christie.

Later, I was in the advanced reading program in middle school and advanced English classes in high school. Why did I want to become a stock broker??? Anyway, I changed majors in college to English/Communications, but haven't had a great writing career.

Of course, I do have a romance novel started....

Not all books agree with me, but maybe I'll go back and try them again (I'm looking at you Virginia Woolf). Lately, I've been into young adult books to see what's going on there and getting into graphic novels. I just learned what "steampunk" is and I'm interested in learning about other genres.
