I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember, scribbling poems and short tales at school, not knowing then that it would become one of the great constants in my life. Over the years, my writing has wandered happily between genres: poetry, gritty short stories, suspense, and, most recently, a supernatural thriller that’s almost ready to meet the world.

For the past 35 years, I’ve worked in financial services, a career that taught me discipline, patience, and an appreciation for detail—all of which now find their way into my storytelling. As I plan for stepping into retirement, I’m looking forward to freeing up my imagination and giving it the run of the place.

I live in the Northwest of England with my wife, in a lovely home in a beautiful area. We have five grown children between us and three energetic grandchildren. I’m also a keen parkrunner; up and out early for a 5k every Saturday morning, with training runs in between, which I find is the perfect way to clear the mind and untangle tricky plot points.

My aim is simple: to tell stories that make you feel something. Whether that’s the chill of suspense, the pull of curiosity, or the quiet echo of a well-chosen word.
