- I have quite an extensive library ranging from history: naval, military, and general to military/naval biography; military/naval fiction; classics; thrillers/mysteries; and heraldry/heraldic art.

- Once the ferrymaster on the Govan Ferry on the river Clyde, Glasgow I now serve as a Deacon with the Church of Scotland. For eight years I served in the Royal Naval Auxiliary Service and was Head of RNXS Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
