The small library of Eleazar Davis (d. 1796) is documented in the probate inventory of his estate, taken 7 April 1796 and recorded 10 April 1796. It includes 3 Bibles, 4 copies of the Book of Common Prayer, 6 psalters, a copy of the New Testament, a history of pirates, and a "parcel of old School Books." Together, the books are valued at £10/10/7 out of a total estate valued at £840/19/5.
