- I like to fill in collections of favorite authors, and revisit books I enjoyed years ago with a different set of eyes. Fred Chappell, James Dickey, Reynolds Price, Walker Percy, William Stafford, Flannery O'Connor, James Applewhite, Eric Kraft, Anne Tyler, Franz Kafka, Rilke, W.B. Yeats...and many others.

George Witte is the author of four collections of poems: An Abundance of Caution (Unbound Edition Press, 2023), Does She Have a Name? (NYQ Books, 2014), Deniability (2009), and The Apparitioners (2005), the latter two available from Orchises Press. Recent work has been published in 32 Poems, Antioch Review, Five Points, Measure, Nimrod, Notre Dame Review, Ploughshares, Southwest Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Yale Review. A native of Madison, New Jersey, he works as the editor in chief of St. Martin’s Press.
