- About My Library
- Once I get my library up and running, I plan to include as many books as I can remember that I have read. I have been continuously downsizing my personal library, because my husband and I are trying to start a family and we need all the extra space we can get! The books marked as "Own" will either be ones that I own and have yet to read, or those I have read and cannot bear to part with. As soon as I make it through all of those, I plan to be a frequent customer at the new library they are building just down the street from my house!
I have extremely eclectic tastes in reading. I generally enjoy any type of fiction, ranging from mysteries to thrillers, and from romance to fantasy. I also have a fondness for biographies and travel logs. My favorite place in this world is England, so quite a bit of my favorite literature is either from or about that magical country. I have an ongoing collection of Harry Potter volumes, because that fandom has been a passion of mine since I was 11 years old in 1997. So if you see various (and numerous!) editions of all of those books, do not be alarmed!
Basically, I discriminate against nothing. If it falls into my hands, I will try it. When I was 12, my goal was to read every single book the library's YA section had to offer... and I very nearly did it (it was not a large library by any means, but it felt humongous to me back then). However, I do not feel the need to stick with every book I try to read. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of books I would love to get my hands on, and I can't justify wasting time on something that hasn't grabbed my full attention. I normally give everything 100 pages to do so, and then it's on to the next one if they don't make the cut! - About Me
- Hi there! My name is Jessica, and I'm a 25 year old academic coordinator from the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I hold a Master of Arts degree in English and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Northern Kentucky University, and I'm considering returning to school for a third degree in Anthropological Studies. I enjoy school, and I especially like learning about other cultures. Literature is one of my favorite ways of glimpsing into cultures past and present (and sometimes future!).
I have been married to my wonderful husband since August 2008, and spend most of my time enjoying my hobbies with him and my closest friends. I love to travel, especially internationally, although I rarely get the chance.
I used to belong to LibraryThing a long time ago, but I've forgotten everything from my username to the groups I had joined, so I'm starting from scratch! - Location
