- About Me
- The James Forman Library of QC collection was acquired in 2010 from the Forman family. Dr. James Forman (1928-2005) was a civil rights activist during the period of 1960’s - 1980’s. He wrote the “Black Manifesto” in 1969, which demanded $500,000,000 in reparations to be paid to the “Black people in this country” because of the exploitation they faced under “white Christian churches and Jewish synagogues”. He earned his Ph. D. from the Union of Experimental Colleges and Universities and went on to publish numerous books and articles. The collection is comprised of books, articles, pamphlets, videos, floppy disks, tapes, and other artifacts.
The James Forman Library consists of roughly 1,700 volumes of books; 2,000 periodicals and pamphlets; 10.5 linear feet of FBI files; 100 audio cassette tapes; 60 VHS tapes; several 5 ¼ inch floppy computer discs; two KCA20 broadcast quality tapes; and one box of color slides.
