About My Library
Um, my library has some fiction (mystery, espionage, some classics, otherwise I have been paring it down), but at this point, mostly linguistics/language works, dictionaries of all kinds, cookbooks and food history, travel narratives, etc. Oh, and art and botany, I have a nice amount of that in the house. I use the library a lot, and have been buying less and less the older I get. I love books, but don't want to be a slave to books I may not read again.
About Me
Hm, about me... I like to read, I prefer reading at night, in bed. It's relaxing, it's a comfort, it's a habit. I read books in bed, but not magazines - they're for the couch in the living room. I like books - ones I can hold. I have an iPad, and while I like it, I don't LOVE reading on it, but will do it when a book is not handy or comfortable or practical.

I used to enjoy fiction, but not much any more. I used to belong to a book club, but not anymore - I want to read what I want to read when I want to read it. If I want to read about Danish grammar for six nights in a row, I don't want to have to stop reading that in order to read some book I did not select myself, especially if it's a genre I dislike. Some people say they like book clubs because they read things they would not have read otherwise, and I can understand that; but for me, I want to read what I want to read when I want to read it, and I don't feel the need to have my reading horizons expanded in that manner. :)

I am a stay-at-home-parent with a daughter and a very nice husband. He doesn't enjoy reading much for pleasure (except to and with our daughter), but I really like him anyway. I write resumes, cover letters, etc., as a very part-time job as my schedule allows. My other very part-time job is training our very chatty parakeet.
