About My Library

I'm currently in the process of forming my own library at home; this is a representation of what I have right now. It's nothing big, and mainly reflects my strange and varied tastes in reading, but it's who I am. My favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult; however, I enjoy continuing to find new authors and series. It's a collection of things that I like, or my "timeless classics," so to speak. The main thing that they have in common is a good story and a great time reading them. I add to the collection all the time -- often from Half Price Books. Many of the books that I have also have a special story behind them.

About Me

I found out about this site from a class that I took in grad school about online information retrieval and databases. Since then, I have completed both my bachelor's degree in information science and my master's degree in library science. I was previously the librarian at a career college in my area, where I manage the collection and all that is associated with that, assist students and instructors with library resources, and other projects as assigned. Currently, I work asa children's librarian at a public library, where I do everything from program planning and implementation to collection development. When I have spare time, I like to read just about anything I can get my hands on. One of my other great passions is Texas Rangers baseball, and I go to as many games as possible and try to watch those that I can't attend. I also enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, and have a passion for scrapbooking.
