If there's a common theme, it's that my stories tend to have songs attached.

I love allegorical fiction and am a little obsessed with the concept of musical fiction. I've lived all over the world, composing and producing over 200 songs in a dozen languages. My work has been performed by renowned artists such as Youssou N’Dour, Shankar Mahadevan, Pape and Cheikh, and Kavita Krishnamoorthy. Along the way, I've lived with taxi drivers, camped in farmers’ fields, worked as a butcher, a tea seller, a translator, a construction worker, and even toured Europe’s biggest festivals as a keyboardist for Africa’s most celebrated band.
