Mainly historical fiction. Like many readers, I like to go new places, learn about new periods of history, but find non-fiction generally too intense. And much history is war and politics centred, and it's social history I like. So I look for well researched historical fiction.

I've been living on Salt Spring Island, BC, an island off the west coast of Canada since 2002. And since I moved here I have self-published four books - one a memoir of our years living aboard a floating house, and a trilogy of historical fiction..called The Violet Trilogy. I grow vegetables, paddle and swim, play the violin and pre-Covid sang in a community choir.
