Eclectic and whimsical. I love books of all kinds and don't care if they're supposed to be classics or are unpretentious getaways. Fiction, non-fiction, childrens, adult, whatever. I cherish and treasure books and find them treasure hunting at the local Goodwill as often as buying from a local indie bookstore.

About Me

I've been reading since toddlerhood (well, looking at pictures back then) and, as one of nine children, found in books a magic retreat I could escape to when things got crazy. I first started writing at age seven and my first literary work was a narrative poem about a bear, complete with dialogue. In my teens, I processed all life's challenges through poetry, and in college found joy in writing research papers - mine and friends. I gravitated toward Journalism, got my degree, wrote for The Tennessean and other local dailies and had a few pieces syndicated. I've been writing professionally for more than 25 years now and decided it's high time I step into the writing I love: novels. Empty Sky was my first, published in 2014, based on a story by a friend who is not comfortable writing. The Gray Lady of Long Branch is due out at the end of August and I'm in love with it.
