About meI am disabled, so I live with my parents, and in addition to multiple other ailments, I have OCD. (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) I LOVE being able to organize my books on LibraryThing! I am always reading a book, and prefer series to stand-alone novels. Whenever I get a new book in a series, though, I have to start at the beginning and re-read the rest of the series before I can read the new one! :)

I like arts and crafts, animals, computers, shopping, and games. I have a cat, Tigger SqueakyMouse, who is an orange and white tabby. He's a rather large cat, but he has such a teeny squeaky voice, that it's surprising the first time you hear it.

We adopted him from a shelter, at the age of 3-1/2, about a year ago. This was about 9 months before my black shelter-adopted kitty, Goofy T. Bratcat, died from cancer at the age of 13. My previous cat, Spencer B.F. Tracy, was an orange and white tabby strikingly similar in looks and temperment to Tigger. I lost Spencer, also to cancer, at the age of 16, about 5 years before we got Tigger. That works out to Tigger being born about 18 months after Spencer died. Hmmm.... you never know.... could be there's a reason Tigger is so much like Spencer! :)

My parents and I are jointly raising my little brother's children, who were 4 & 6 at the time of his death by drowning at age 27 in 2006. My parents are both disabled as well, with various conditions, but together we manage to keep the two boys, Colin and Tristan, happy and healthy while they keep us busy and active. I read to them almost every night, and keep up a library for them, as well. I purchase books through Scholastic for them throughout the school year, and hope to instill in them the same love of reading that I have.

About my libraryI use a power wheelchair, and have some trouble with typing, so I was thrilled when I got my CueCat from LibraryThing. I "declawed" it, and have enjoyed scanning in my books.

At this point, I think I have about a third of them done, which, as of today, 07/23/08, is 373, so my library probably numbers around 1000 books. Except for the "Magic School Bus" books I have scanned in, this estimate doesn't count the couple of hundred children's books I have for my nephews.

My favorite genres are mysteries, especially involving cats, scifi, and fantasy, although my collection is a bit eclectic. I never get rid of any books that I like - I keep them forever and reread them periodically.
