The Obsidian Collection Archives is dedicated to preserving, elevating, and making accessible the rich and often overlooked history of Black communities through digital archiving. Our mission is to safeguard photographs, print media, records, and other cultural artifacts that document Black life, artistry, and contributions across generations. By digitizing these materials and creating a globally accessible platform, we ensure that Black narratives remain visible, valued, and accurately represented. Through partnerships with community organizations, photographers, and historians, we actively work to reclaim, curate, and share these stories, fostering greater cultural awareness and historical appreciation. Our ultimate goal is to build the largest, most comprehensive digital archive of Black history, making these invaluable resources available to scholars, educators, creatives, and the public worldwide.
