About Me

I'm a long term book lover, but I also like crafting - not easy to do both at the same time, although audio books go some way towards helping with this. I knit, crochet, and cross-stitch. I read all sorts of books - fantasy, classics, historical, a few mysteries, non-fiction (mostly historical or geographical), the occasional graphic novel. I'll dip into YA books and some about travel - there is little that is completely off-limits. My reading as with so many things is always a case of 'if only I had more time...' My physical collection is gradually reducing for practical reasons and thankfully the pile of unread books already acquired is also slowly reducing - it takes a great deal of willpower not to buy every book that looks even slightly interesting but persistence is paying off and I hope one day to have less than 100 unread books in the house.

I am in a state of permanent itchy feet to travel and see other parts of the world (and invariably I explore their bookshops while I'm there!), but unfortunately finances don't permit this as frequently as I'd like so more of my travelling now is done by exploring worlds (real and imagined) through my reading.
