About My Library

Queensland Regional Meeting Library is a Quaker library for Queensland F/friends (Members and Attenders). We collect Quaker authors and titles as well as other topics that relate to Quaker Testimonies and concerns. Our collection is about Quakers and Quakerism and is for those Queensland Friends and Attenders who are interested in learning more about Quaker history, biography, processes, beliefs and practices.

We are also a Peace Library as part of the Friends Peace Teams, Peace Library network as we hold a significant collection of titles on non-violence, nonviolent action, Alternatives to violence (AVP), Pacifism and Peace studies; our commitment to peace building, healing and reconciliation, Earth care; we maintain a collection that is consistent with Quaker work for peace and justice in the world.

About Me

QRM Friends have always collected books and when a Friend dies, their favourite Quaker Library gets first dibs on their personal collection. We are eternally grateful for the donations our Friends provide. The Queensland Regional Meeting Library was more formally created in the early 1940's however in reality Queensland Friends have been collecting and sharing books with each other since the first Meeting in Brisbane in the 1860's. We love learning, we love books, we love Peace. In September 2022 we became a Peace Library supporting the work of the Friends Peace Teams Library network.
