- About My Library
My personal library reflects my diverse reading interests, from fiction and literary fiction to research materials for my writing. I’m an avid reader who gravitates toward short story collections, spy novels, and thrillers, but I have a soft spot for cozy mysteries set in quaint English or Canadian villages. My shelves are a mix of books that inspire my craft and stories I simply can’t resist. You’ll find dog-eared paperbacks I’ve read multiple times alongside new releases I’m eager to discover. Everything from classic espionage novels to contemporary literary fiction lives here, with the occasional village mystery tucked in for those moments when I want to escape to a world where the biggest crime might happen at the local tea shop.
- About Me
As a reader, I’m drawn to writers who reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary and find myself returning again and again to stories that explore how geography shapes the soul. This fascination with place and memory naturally led me to write literary fiction about characters discovering unexpected truths in familiar places. Born in Havana, I learned early that architecture and memory are inseparable. Childhood walks through Cuba’s colonial neighborhoods with my mother planted the seeds for stories that would bloom decades later, after a family decision separated me from my homeland. These experiences of carrying one place within you while building a life in another shape how I understand the space between preservation and transformation. I approach storytelling with the same attention to structure and beauty that first drew me to architecture. My debut novella, Searching for Margarito Temprana: A Barcelona Novella of Scent and Stone, reflects my fascination with how places whisper their stories to those willing to walk their streets with wonder.
