- About My Library
I read the books that shaped my writing — Southern lit, Appalachian fiction, faith and place, the kind of stories that don't look away. Ron Rash, Marilynne Robinson, Wendell Berry, Cormac McCarthy.
- About Me
R. M. Kiser is a storyteller from Kingsport, Tennessee, writing fiction for people who are hurting, questioning, or quietly searching for something true. His journey into writing began as an anniversary gift for his wife of nearly 31 years. After her passing in early 2025, the stories kept coming — and they still do. She is somewhere in all of them, even the ones that don't look like grief. He writes across mythic fantasy, contemporary fiction, and faith-based parables, alongside a foster-care series that gives voice to those too often unheard. His work doesn't resolve pain — it sits with it, and leaves behind the quiet sense of being seen and not alone. He is a proud father to a son adopted from foster care, a community theater volunteer, and at home outnumbered by one puppy and three cats. He draws on years of work alongside people in crisis, grounding his characters in emotional truth without flinching.
