This is the library of the Railway Society of South Africa, Natal Branch, Railway History Society.
About Me
The Railway History Society works closely with the Umgeni Steam Railway, which runs live steam excursions from Kloof Station (Durban upper highway area) to Inchanga Station, along a spectacular route overlooking the Valley of a Thousand Hills, some of South Africa's most attractive scenery. The line was built in 1878-79, through such difficult country that, although it was for many years the main line to the interior, it is a mountain railway in all but name.
