About meThe Railway History Society works closely with the Umgeni Steam Railway, which runs live steam excursions from Kloof Station (Durban upper highway area) to Inchanga Station, along a spectacular route overlooking the Valley of a Thousand Hills, some of South Africa's most attractive scenery. The line was built in 1878-79, through such difficult country that, although it was for many years the main line to the interior, it is a mountain railway in all but name.

About my libraryThis is the library of the Railway Society of South Africa, Natal Branch, Railway History Society.
