- About My Library
My personal library reflects both loyalty and curiosity. I tend to collect authors rather than individual titles, which has resulted in shelves filled with complete or near-complete runs from dozens of writers. Many are indie authors whose work I admire and follow closely, alongside a solid number of traditionally published voices that shaped my love of reading in the first place.
Mystery dominates the collection. Roughly ninety percent of my library lives there, spanning private investigators, historical puzzles, small-town crimes, and character-driven whodunits. That said, the past few years reveal a clear streak of exploration. I’ve ventured into romance, fantasy, young adult, non-fiction, and more than a little time travel, usually guided by strong recommendations or an intriguing premise.
Taken together, the library shows a reader who values consistency, voice, and storytelling craft, while still leaving room for the occasional surprise.
- About Me
I’m a lifelong reader who fell into writing the long way around. I grew up loving mysteries, history, and stories where character matters more than spectacle. I’m especially drawn to books with a strong sense of place, moral weight, and clean storytelling that trusts the reader to connect the dots.
As a writer, I work primarily in mystery, action/adventure and historical fiction, with an emphasis on character-driven plots, thoughtful pacing, and white-hat justice rather than blood and gore. I enjoy stories where good people are tested, hard choices matter, and consequences stick.
As a reader, my tastes are wide but deliberate. I value clear prose, honest emotion, and authors who respect their audience. I keep my library carefully and tag thoughtfully, because discovering the right book at the right time is one of life’s quiet pleasures. I have expanded my own library and personal tastes to include fantasy over the last couple of years. I have even read a few romance novels in support of authors I know.
LibraryThing feels less like a platform and more like a shared reading room, which suits me just fine.
