- About My Library
- My interests are broad and eclectic, to say the least. I have a large non-fiction collection focused on World Religions (mostly Eastern religions and the occult), Social Sciences (Anthropology, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology). I also enjoy fiction, mostly dark novels, horror, science fiction and fantasy. I especially enjoy my collection of the works of H.P. Lovecraft and those inspired by his Mythos. I collect works of medieval literature and nonfiction about the middle ages, especially the Arthurian cycles. And finally I most treasure antique books, anything really that has that certain age and feel, books with histories of their own that have been loved and treasured through generations.
- About Me
- I am married to a wonderful woman, the 33 year old son of a Librarian. I grew up around books and in Libraries. My father was also an antique dealer whose business, Stone Monkey Antiques, was named after the Chinese myth of the Monkey King. When my father passed away at 41, I inherited nearly 3000 books. While I wasn't able to keep them all, I still love reading, collecting, writing and am even getting interested in binding my own books. I have a degree in Sociology and Religious Studies and am pursuing higher degrees in Anthropology and Comparative Religions soon. Unfortunately, for the past three years I have been struggling with debilitating nerve damage, back and leg pain. In 2010 I had five surgeries, including a right leg lengthening. Because of my condition, I've had to move in with relatives and most of my books remain in storage. Recently, I have begun buying and selling books online, mostly locally through Craigslist, but will be on E-Bay soon.
