About My Library
A treasury of esoteric knowledge located in the heart of the city, the Theosophical Library on Capitol Hill is one of the best kept secrets in Seattle! Over 7,000 books on metaphysical, philosophical, theosophical, comparative religion, healing and esoteric topics are housed in the original lodge built for the Theosophical Society in the 1930s.

The Library, located just behind the Quest Bookshop at 717 Broadway Avenue East, offers a unique collection of books encompassing philosophical and spiritual traditions of the East and West, including a special selection emphasizing the Ancient Wisdom tradition that has found expression in modern times as Theosophy.

The Library welcomes visitors on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons from 12pm-6pm. For those who wish to borrow, membership is available for a modest yearly cost of $30.

As the Library is a non-profit organization, volunteers are always welcome. Those who have questions about the Library may call 206-267-0156 during open hours.
About Me
The Theosophical Society is dedicated to preserving and realizing the ageless wisdom, which embodies both a worldview and a vision of human self-transformation. The Theosophical Society has produced many varied leaders of innovative movements, writers and philosophers. Among them are Maria Montessori, Lord Baden Powell (founder of the Scout movement), Frank Baum (author of the Wizard of Oz.), the Russian composer Alexander Scriabin, the Dutch painter Mondrian, W.B. Yeats, and more recently, Dora Kunz, founder of Therapeutic Touch.

A wide variety of programs are offered at the lodge September thru June on Sundays at 4 pm. For program details and information about the library, please visit our website at seattletheosophy.org
