- About Me
Ex-bookseller (new, used, rare-California and the West), 30 years as director, historical research library in Southern California. Editor of historical journal for 28 years. Now independent researcher, book editor, designer. Occasionally give lectures on the history of booksellers and bookselling in California. Have written a number of articles about the book trade in California. Recently, 2020, gave lectures about Pasadena bookseller Alice P. Millard's early activities in Santa Barbara 1916-1924, in San Francisco and Pasadena. Presently working on debunking the established first hard bound book published in Los Angeles. Hint: It's 1880 not 1881 and its a group of church ladies. Interesting methinks.
